FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OAKVILLE, Ontario, May 21, 2008 - Today, Perspective Marketing Inc. announced the release of Perspective™ Toronto 2008. The publication was distributed in the Globe and Mail and also to select households in Toronto via Canada Post. Perspective™ Toronto takes a look at a number of initiatives implemented throughout the city, including its recent partnership with the Zerofootprint Office. This partnership has a twofold strategy: one is to reduce the use of energy at municipal offices and in services provided by the municipality. The second is to promote to the website (toronto.zerofootprint.net), particularly its carbon calculator, to citizens and encourage them to reduce their own environmental footprints. "The City of Toronto's proactive environmental approach in becoming one of the first major cities in North America to partner with Zerofootprint is setting a precedent for other cities in the world," says Glenn Marshall, Managing Partner at Perspective Marketing. Other initiatives underway in the city include implementing the Agenda for Prosperity. The Agenda for Prosperity was put together by a committee of stakeholders from within the city including members from the fields of business, industry, labour and academia. It sets out the city's mission to remain the regional economic powerhouse while at the same time expanding its grip on international markets. "The city's desire to expand on its own success is really the driving force behind Toronto as a world city," says Marshall. "Toronto is very inclusive. Forty-three per cent of its population is now visible minorities and this grand-scale acceptance bolsters all facets of the city." Stories on the city's arts and culture scenes, Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, and the city's sports offerings round out the publication.
