Brampton Partners with Magna Creating 560 Jobs

BRAMPTON, ON – Magna International, a leading global automotive supplier, has announced a significant expansion of its operations in Brampton, Ontario. The investment will focus on advanced manufacturing capabilities, which will create 560 new jobs once the facility hits full production.

The decision to expand in Brampton underscores the region’s attractiveness as a hub for innovation and manufacturing. Mayor Patrick Brown via a video tweet praised the work of Brampton’s Economic Development Department “removing red tape to expedite this investment”.  Mayor Brown pointed out this expansion will focus on electric vehicle part manufacturing which will “directly address the need to decarbonize” which the City of Brampton committed to when they announced a deal with the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) for $400 million to purchase 450 zero-emission buses over the next several years.  The announcement from Mayor Patrick Brown is found here.
