Women are the original brewmasters. This month Wellington Brewery highlighted International Women’s Day and celebrated the role that women play in the craft beer industry.

Today the craft beer industry continues to be a male dominated space and Wellington Brewery are talking about ways to push for more equal gender representation in craft beer. The Sleeman brewing tradition in Canada extends back to 1834 when John H. Sleeman arrived in Ontario from Cornwall, England. By 1851, he started the first Sleeman brewery to be located in Guelph, Ontario, brewing small 100-barrel batches.
