We all deserve the very best in health care. In fact, we deserve the ultimate. And that’s what every single person who walks through the doors of Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital and the future Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital will experience.
Mackenzie Health is transforming the way health care is provided to the communities of Richmond Hill, Vaughan and King — and it’s already begun.
Mackenzie Health became the first Canadian acute care hospital with an emergency department and intensive care unit to receive the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM) Stage 7 certification.
This recognizes and celebrates the important role of health care innovation in a busy hospital environment. It was also the only Canadian hospital in 2018 to receive the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives’ (CHIME)’s “most wired” award. To top it off, Mackenzie Health was also recently named a recipient of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Nicholas E. Davies Award of Excellence.
The award recognizes an approach to digital health that has helped patients
access care and recover faster.
Mackenzie Health is celebrating this success while also staying acutely aware that York Region is one of the country’s fastest growing and most diverse communities in Canada, with more than 100 languages spoken. Its population is expected to increase by more than 35 per cent over the next 20 years.
One hospital just can’t keep up with the needs of this growing community. Now, Mackenzie Health has an unrivalled opportunity to achieve a vision for the ultimate health experience in York Region with the construction of Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital — Canada’s first smart hospital and the first net new hospital in York Region in more than 30 years.
Scheduled to open in late 2020, the new 1.2-million-square-foot hospital will join Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital and Mackenzie Health’s community-based locations to double the communities’ access to exceptional patient care.
Planned and designed through the eyes of the patient, linked to nature, environmentally sustainable and enabled by integrated smart technology, Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital will encourage the essential bond between patients and their caregivers, support a healing environment, accommodate patient and family participation, and empower patients.
This is what the future of health care looks like, and it’s going to happen at Mackenzie Health. For more information on Mackenzie Health please click here https://www.mackenziehealth.ca
