Sleeman Tap Room

The Sleeman brewing tradition in Canada extends back to 1834 when John H. Sleeman arrived in Ontario from Cornwall, England. By 1851, he started the first Sleeman brewery to be located in Guelph, Ontario, brewing small 100-barrel batches. Fast forward 170 years and you can now shop online or visit Sleeman’s Retail Store and Tap Room at 551 Clair Rd West, Guelph, Ontario. 

Open 7 days a week, Sleeman’s Retail Store and Tap Room sells all your favourite Sleeman brews by the pack and by the pint. Enjoy sipping a pint on their brewery patio or take home a 32 oz, fresh-filled crowlers of your favourite Sleeman Brew.

Wellington Brewery

Located in Guelph, Wellington Brewery is one of Canada’s original craft brewers. Since 1985 the brewery has become known for their award-winning year-round lineup as well as their creative small-batch seasonal beers. This fall they are celebrating their 36th year as an independently owned craft brewery. 

2021 has been a big year for Wellington Brewery with some national and international awards. The brewery took home 5 medals in the U.S. Open Beer Championship including 2 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals which earned a 4th place overall ranking in this international brewing competition. And at the Canadian Brewing Awards in September, Wellington took home a Bronze medal for their year-round Helles Lager. Look for these award-winning beers at the LCBO, The Beer Store, and select grocery stores across Ontario or better yet, pop by the brewery for a visit.

Royal City Brewing

Fantastic Options to try some of Ontario’s best craft brews from Royal City Brewing. Visit their incredible new Beer Garden which is still open for the fall. The Beer Garden allows you bring your own food (BYOF) or check out the great list of local restaurant menus available to browse allowing you to order direct to your table.

You can also stop in and visit The Ward Room. Chat with the super knowledgeable staff who can walk you through the profiles of all beers available at Royal City Brewery. A must-stop for your Guelph craft brewery taste tour. Keep checking the website when tours of the brewery will be back up and running for the general public.

Every spring, for the past 6 years, The Ward Room at Royal City Brewing is filled with baby hop plants for those looking to be a part of something amazing. People make a $10 donation in exchange for a hop plant to grow in their backyard. Funds are donated to the Autism Behavioural Services in Fergus Ontario. Today, these plants have been harvested from hundreds of backyards and are now a part of Royal City’s delicious seasonal brew. Order the Community Brew for pick up or delivery here.
